There are many ways to get your blog posts noticed, but putting quality content in them is the most important. Here are some quick tips for getting your blog posts noticed.
1. Make Blog Posts Useful
Always remember that people are on the internet looking for information. They are going to be going to your blog to obtain information on what your blog is about. If you have a blog about traveling, you would want to make sure your blog has useful tips and stories about traveling. If you start having blog posts talking about home renovation projects you are doing, the reader is not going to get what they came for. Each blog post should aim to inform, inspire, educate, or entertain the reader with information pertaining to your blog topic.
2. Share Your Opinions
There are a lot of informative blog posts that just lay out facts and figures. That information can really be found anywhere, so when putting them in your blog posts make sure to include your own personal opinions. Readers want first hand experience from quality blog posts and opinions from experts on a wide range of topics. They will continue to come back to your blog and read more posts if they are able to trust the information and opinions they are getting from you.
3. Cut Out The Excess
Make sure to read your post a few times. Not only to make sure it all reads correctly and make sense, but also to see if there is information you can cut out or condense. If you notice areas that don’t add value to the post at all, make sure to remove these as they can also mess with your SEO (search engine optimization). A blog post should really only be as long as it needs to be.
4. Picture Your Reader
Instead of trying to write for the masses, try to write for a particular person. Make sure to address any thoughts or questions that person might have. Chances are good that when readers see your post, they will have similar thoughts and questions. This makes them feel that each post is written just for them. Remembering your reader will go a long way to helping you create quality blog posts.
5. Make Your Blog Posts Scannable
It would be great if everyone read every blog post from beginning to end, but that is not a reality. Readers want quality information fast, and do not want to have to read multiple pages of information to get it. If they can see bullet point information, titles, and subheadings, they will stop in the areas that interest them. This post uses this same strategy by creating numbered titles for each paragraph saying what it is about. Users can scan this and just read the subheadings. If they already know about it they can skip it. If they don’t know about it, they can stop and read the paragraph below to learn more.
6. Choose The Right Blog Headline
Normally, readers will not check the content of each post before choosing to read it, but instead decide to read a post based in the headline. You need to entice readers to click on each blog post. 7. Show Some Care
If you want a reader to care about your post, then you need to also. Make sure to write your post with passion. Show a love for the topic of the post, as opposed to just trying to get it done. Doing some research, sharing your opinions, and asking the reader to try what you are suggesting are all great strategies to keep them engaged. Remember, if you show you are passionate about something, readers will be able to tell. That passion may also just rub off on them keeping them coming back to your blog.
8. Give The Reader Something To Do
If you can give your readers a task to do, or a way to continue searching out information on the blog topic, they will be very happy in the long run. Give them a recipe to try out, a DIY project to do, or at least a way to get more information on what you a writing about. You can include links to other posts you have written that are similar, or you can reference other websites and blogs about that topic. Make sure to inspire your readers to continue reading about the blog topic.
9. Tell Stories For Quality Blog Posts
Stories and personal experiences are a great way to connect with your readers. Give them real life experiences on the good and bad things that have happened to you. Money making opportunities, fun times with family, DIY horror stories, all make for quality blog posts. No matter how much information people are able to obtain, nothing can substitute for real world, personal experience.
10. Add Some Visual Appeal
When readers stare at a whole page of small text, it can be overwhelming. Make sure to break up your post with an image, titles, or various colors to highlight important areas. This will make the overall post much easier to read and much less daunting for the end reader.
